This is especially true for you since you sound like you're well ahead of the game, having already started your side hustle!\n\nAccounting is also an excellent long-term career choice if you're ambitious enough. I'm sure you know that some senior partners at some firms make 7 figures! And even if you leave public accounting, there are still extremely lucrative positions in industry.\n\nI think our field is truly underrated. Every now and then I'll bump into somebody I haven't seen since college, and they'll ask me, \"So are you still doing accounting?\", as though it's a field that any reasonable person would abandon as soon as possible. I just politely reply, \"Yeah, it pays the bills,\" but what I'm thinking is, \"Of course! There are only a handful of fields where I can make $150,000 - $200,000 in my 20s without extensive schooling, and I'm in one of them! I'd be crazy to leave it to go do something else and start at the bottom of the totem pole!\"\n\nAnd what's more, if you ever want to start your own business, qualified independent tax and accounting professionals are always in demand. You could easily bring in at least $150,000 a year working from home if you have the right experience.
