Dana has been writing and editing for online audiences since 2011, focusing on fintech and personal finance since 2015. She has been published in the New York Times, Slate, HuffPost, CNBC, Yahoo! Finance, and more. Since 2015, she’s been an editor for The Penny Hoarder, LendEDU, and now as a freelancer for sites including Money Done Right. In 2018, she was a columnist for Inc. Magazine. Her extensive portfolio has educated readers on subjects like fintech, student loans, mortgages, debt, lending, small business, and management.

Dana’s journalism training includes the Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing from the Poynter Institute and the Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy 2018.

Dana studied community and nonprofit leadership at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Dana has trained journalists, writers, and editors on writing and editing for the web through sessions at the annual ACES editors’ conference, Utah Valley University, online courses and private trainings.
