Cash back apps are without a doubt the easiest way to save money. Your phone is almost always in your pocket, or close at hand, and usually, with just a swipe across your screen, you can find some sort of savings. It’s easy to find cash back apps for Android devices and iOS systems alike! You can easily get cash back on anything.

1. Ibotta

Cash back apps like Ibotta have continued to pop up over the last few years, but Ibotta is still the ruling figure when it comes to cash back on groceries. Ibotta is easy to use and won’t have you scanning barcodes in the grocery store. Okay, so we’re starting with Ibotta because it’s the easiest to sign up with and use. After opening Ibotta on your phone, or exploring their website, you select find your favorite retailers.

Good to Know: Select the retailer, most of these are grocery stores, but you can also get cash back on some Amazon purchases too.

  • After selecting your retailer, you can search for items that you normally purchase, or scroll through their options. Then hit the small plus sign to add it to your list.
  • Finally, snap a picture of your receipt, add a few details and then get your cash back!

2. WealthSimple

Believe it or not, everyone is looking for ways to save money. So even if you’re on your way to making it, in ten or fifteen years, you’ll still want to get cash back where you can. Savvy investors try to fleece anyone with a little bit of income to invest in their future and WealthSimple is putting a stop to that. You can invest with next to nothing, as there’s a $0 account minimum.

Good to Know: WealthSimple relies on tried and true investing methods that allow you to meet your financial goals even if you don’t think you’re ready to start majorly investing yet. They take spare change from your regular purchases, and then invest it into socially responsible portfolios. There are a few fees, but overall you still earn cash back and save money while investing!

3. Mint

Okay, so Mint as a standalone app won’t get you cash back. It’s like the French fry for ketchup; the vessel used to get to the good stuff. The Mint app can certainly help you save money, budget better, and overall be more financially responsible.

Good to Know: Mint does connect you with offers for credit cards that have cash back options. They also hook you up with personal loans that can save you from paying hundreds of dollars in interest if you’re looking to consolidate.

4. Drop

Drop is great and generally easy to use. There’s a ton of different ways for you to earn rewards too, but very similar to other “cash back” options, it’s really hard to build up enough points to get to the good rewards. Basically, about 40,000 points equals $40.

Good to Know: For some people, it’s not worth it, but if you do swipe your card a lot, it can be a huge payoff. Drop tracks spending off of any debit or credit card you tie to the account. Then when you shop with specific stores, you earn points. Many entrepreneurs love that they can finally get some good rewards off of essential spending.

5. SavingStar

Cash back rebate offers can fit right into your regular shopping. You probably hate reading through lists on how to save money only to be sold a ton of different ways to spend money. We get it!  SavingStar offers rebates and cash back on dining out, and general fruits and vegetables too. There are a ton of different ways to earn bonuses on top of your cash back.

6. MyPoints

So, unlike a ton of the semi-questionable apps, MyPoints has flown under the radar while also paying out something like hundreds of millions of dollars to satisfied users.

Good to Know: How does it work? You can earn rewards that then become gift cards or cash via PayPal from playing games, answering surveys, and watching videos. But the best part of MyPoints is the cashback from online shopping.

Pro Tip: Make sure to make your first purchase from somewhere that you earn rewards and double dip in those points!

7. Rakuten

Rakuten (formerly Ebates) is among the best cash back apps available right now, although they’ve had their ups and downs over the last few years. A cash back app for Android that could get rid of a ton of other apps sitting in your drawer.

Good to Know: Rakuten works to get you some cash back from one of the biggest selection of retailers in the cash back game. You can get cash back from shopping online and earn extra money for getting friends or family members to sign up too.

8. Digit

You’ve heard the old saying, something about money, wait, “You got to spend money to make money.” Well, it’s partially true. Digit appears on this list in an unconventional way because essentially, you’re getting cash back from… yourself.

Good to Know: This app does charge a small service fee because it automates saving for you. Yes, some banks do take care of that, but they don’t set you up with compounding interest or any sort of return. Basically, with a traditional bank, your savings account is just sitting there, maybe making a few bucks a year.

Pro Tip: With Digit you utilize a micro saving platform that gathers up all your little bits from regular spending. So that $3.25 coffee becomes $0.75 in savings. Then that savings start earning you money. Whenever you need to, pull out your funds.

13. Freebird

How often do you call for an Uber or Lyft? Even if it’s only once every couple of months, you can score dollars of cash back easily with Freebird. Using the app to go out earns you easy to redeem rewards through Freebird.

Pro Tip: When you first open the app Freebird has a ton of locations and events in your area. Click on any event that interests you, and it will call an Uber or Lyft for you, and you get cash back just for going out to somewhere fun.

Good to Know: Freebird is great to use on vacation when you know you’ll be calling a ton of rides!

14. Long Game

Long Game gets you set up on the financial path you wish you’d started years ago. You open a savings account with Long Game and start earning interest while also collecting rewards.

15. ShopTracker

Shoptracker offers cash back from you sharing your purchase history from Amazon. What the company is really doing is a bit of reasonable market research, and the good news is you don’t have to answer a ton of questions.

Good to Know: Shoptracker does have a limit on its payout though because you can only make $36 per year for participating. But the cashback is worth it if you plan on ordering from Amazon even just a few times or over the course of the year.

16. Cushion

Download Cushion on your phone now to have a money-conscious assistant in your pocket. But it’s annoying taking care of all the tiny things that you need to get done to really cut into your budget. Cushion solves the problem of making numerous phone calls and dealing with catty sales representatives. Cushion negotiates your bills for you, and it works through Facebook Messenger, so you have proof of the interaction.

17. BerryCart

Just like Ibotta, you get cash back on groceries that you would buy anyways making it the perfect way to pad your budget a little bit. BerryCart differs from other cash back apps for groceries because it only focuses on organic lifestyle choices. So, you’ll save a ton of time wading through the excessive options of unhealthy snacks that you’d never buy anyways.

18. Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is everything a user could want from an app. It’s easy to use, doesn’t send a ton of annoying notifications and connects to your email, so you don’t lose all your cash back rewards if you uninstall the app for any reason.

19. Walmart Savings Catcher

The store where you can get anything from new tires to groceries, Walmart has their own cash back app. So, what happens is you go and shop at Walmart as you normally would, then you upload your receipt. All you have to do is scan the code at the bottom and then if Walmart finds a lower price anywhere else, you get cash back.

20. Robinhood

Robinhood is for those who are ready, but still a little scared to start investing. Robinhood lets you purchase portions of stock with just a few dollars, and the overall effect is a small amount of cash back.

Receipt Hog doesn’t make you jump through hoops or limit you to only getting cash back on certain items. It’s not even limited to grocery stores or retail shops. If you buy gas and keep the receipt, you can earn cash back from Receipt Hog.

22. Punchcard

Another receipt scanning option for cash back, punch card will take anything you send in, but you’re only earning a flat rate each time. Then for each sixth receipt, you scan you get the chance to earn bonus points for even more cash back.

23. Spent

Spent at first doesn’t seem like a cash back app, but when you link your payment card with the many store loyalty cards you’ve opened over the years, you start getting cash back almost immediately.

Good to Know: Spent’s cash back system doesn’t interfere with any of the other savings you get from the site, so the cashback is on top of the savings you’re already getting from Spent.

24. iDine

Be honest, do you dine out a lot? Because if you already spend more than $750 on dining out in a year, which most of us do, you can earn 5% back on your restaurant bills.

If you’re interested at all in taking control of your finances without necessarily reducing your spending, Swagbucks is a must-have app. This cash back app lets you answer surveys for cash and get cash back for tons of different types of spending.

Pro Tip: Everything from Amazon to Hotels.com has cashback options. There’s no “deal” or hidden agenda, just a helpful mobile app making sure you get a little something back in your account.

27.  Shopkick

We love Shopkick. You can earn rewards, or you can earn cash back, and there’s a huge variety of retailers. Without a doubt though this is one of the best cash back apps for groceries. What better way to save and make money, than to pair cash back with something you must budget for, really you can’t leave food off the budget!

Good to Know:  Shopkick is something fun that you can get the kids into too. You get points just for walking into a store, and sometimes you can earn points for just scanning certain items!

But always scan your receipt to find out if Shopkick has any extra points in store that will translate into cash back!

28. GetUpside

Some cash back apps make it seem weird to go out of your way in the hopes of a few dollars back. While you won’t get rich from GetUpside, it’s probably one of the more convenient apps because you can use it at Shell stations in grocery stores and even at some restaurants in specific areas.

29. Fetch Rewards

Another great cash back app for groceries, Fetch Rewards covers categories including beauty, personal care, alcohol, in addition to every other general grocery category you can imagine.

Good to Know: The great thing about Fetch Rewards is that it’s not a flat rate per uploaded receipt, and it’s not restricted to specific items that you have to activate either. No, instead it bases your rewards, and ultimately your cash back on the amount you spent on that receipt.

30. UPromise

A cash back application that hits home, this app helps you earn 2.5% cash back on restaurant bills. But the cashback you earn goes towards your college savings or to your already existing student loan.

31. HealthyWage

Not technically a cash back app, but the application that can put your good health habits into a different view. To get started with HealthyWage you enter into a wellness challenge. These challenges focus on health not necessarily dropping a ton of weight or exercising until you’re too tired to go to work.
